Aloe-emodin is mainly derived from the dried roots and rhizomes of Polygonaceae plants, such as Rheum palmatum L., Rheum tanguticum Maxim.ex Balf., or Rheum officinale Baill. In addition, it can also be extracted from aloe leaves.
Application
1. Health food: Due to its multiple biological activities, aloe-emodin can be added to health food to enhance the health benefits of the product.
2. Cosmetics: Aloe-emodin has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, has good moisturizing and repairing effects on the skin, and can therefore be used as a raw material for cosmetics.
